Yep. Sigh. Hugs…

Yes we are!

@kdfrawg Everything would just take sooooo much longer for me here in Austin. I suppose that's the reality of public transport everywhere but I'm too impatient for it. If I can drive there in 25 minutes or take 3 busses to get there in 90 minutes, I vote for the car.

I'm in a podcast (in the listener segment of one of my faves) this week. If you're interested, my bit kicks in about 15 minutes in…

@kdfrawg Yep! I didn't start driving until I was 17. To that point, I'd been living in Santiago, Chile, which had wonderful public transportation. I had no desire to drive until I moved back to the US and had to walk about 2 miles to the nearest bus stop. :-)

I'd be okay with $1 per month for most apps I want to use on a regular basis—$2 for apps I use daily. But, I don't want my use contingent on their server staying up, especially for something as critical as my password app. Microsoft and Adobe want too much and they can get it because of their corporate lock-in. It's frustrating.

//

I know this story very well.

@kdfrawg I don't begrudge them the money. We all have bills to pay. But, trying to lock us into a lifetime of payments seems ridiculous.

//

It's all so damn hard and confusing. Hugs…

I hate the idea that things just stop working when they shut down the server for whatever reason. As long as I can run it on my own hardware w/o having to check in, I can be relatively sure it'll work for as long as I need it to work. That's more important with my password app than just about anything else.
