I was keeping it for a long time because it was the number my grandmother had. But she's been gone for 5 years now. And, my excuse has been that it works when there's no power—and what if there's an emergency? But, it's a silly waste of money for that. Cell service is fine in my neighborhood. If there was a catastrophic cell failure, having a land line wouldn't keep me connected to anyone I know since I'm the only one who still has a land line. Sigh. :-)
