Re. my FORTRAN project, it's a simulator my research group uses. It's been under development for about 30 years. As new graduate students come into our program, they add additional capability to the simulator based on the research they're doing. So a lot of people have worked on the project over the years. We share it with some of the folks in the industry that support our research so the documentation needs to be updated each time we release a new version. And, I'm the lucky person who gets to step through the input section and try to explain all the new things and all the changes. It's a very boring but necessary job.
